Consultation, Facilitation & Training

What to Expect:

I am interested in the fine details of what you want to accomplish by bringing a consultant or trainer into your space — this includes what led to your decision to do so.  What is the context?

Upon understanding your goals, I will provide you with an outline of what I have to offer and a financial quote for my services, or I’ll refer you to others who may be a better fit to meet your needs.

Once we agree to work together, we’ll have a planning meeting so I can gather more specifics to craft an individualized training to support your vision.  The week before I present, we will talk to solidify pragmatic details and last minute questions about both my facilitation process and content.

Whether just one training, a cluster of trainings or a longer-term collaboration, I’m enthusiastic about the possibilities.

“I had approached Nina with a tall order: in two one-hour sessions I wanted to initiate discussion about bias and social identity in a way that was respectful of my staff’s diverse perspectives while also moving all of us along a continuum toward greater awareness and recognition of the significance of these issues in our school and society.  Nina helped shape that rather vague goal into two well-organized workshops that engaged our faculty and sparked reflection and sharing, both in the context of the afternoon sessions and still, many months later.  I look forward to having the opportunity to work with Nina again in the future.”

“Nina provided a much-needed in-service training to our faculty around adopting a trauma-informed approach to teaching. This was an incredibly valuable addition to our work in both anti-racism as well as being a better social-emotional support team to our students. Her presentation was extremely well-organized and accessible for all of us. The topics she touched upon are sensitive and complex, but she put people at ease with how well she modeled an open and vulnerable approach to these. I so appreciated the thought she put into planning…Our staff reported feeling much better equipped about their ability to respond to trauma in the classroom, with the understanding that it presents in a multitude of ways that we may not always be cognizant of.”

“Boarding school faculty can be a difficult audience, generally, and even more so around sensitive topics like the ones that Nina helps schools to navigate.  She made a significant and positive impact on our faculty; the tools and language that Nina provided were very helpful and she was a patient facilitator who opened an insightful and productive conversation.  Nina stopped and asked us what we were worried about and what we wanted more information on but also got right into difficult topics with straight-forward information.  Nina was able to manage the energy and concerns in the room really well, balancing our need to have a conversation with exploring concrete strategies in our work with students.”
