About Me
I have been in the fields of clinical social work and education for 30 years. Until August 2019, I spent four years as the Clinical Director at the Center for Women & Community at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (UMass Amherst), and prior to that, 17 years as their Teen Crisis Intervention Specialist. I began my career as an outpatient therapist in community mental health.
I have provided clinical supervision to many MSW students as well as colleagues. I taught at the Smith School for Social Work and the College of Education at UMass Amherst and facilitated trainings to a range of schools and organizations on topics including the impact of systemic oppression on emotional health, implicit bias, queer identity development, and building trauma-informed, trusting relationships with teens.
I received an MSW from Simmons University (1992) and an EdS, with a Social Justice Education concentration, from UMass Amherst (2019). Across all facets of my work, I value transparency, accountability and inclusivity.
